I’ve been professionally tattooing since 2013. I started off with my apprenticeship in 2012 in Houston, TX and I’ve had the opportunity to work with some of the best artists that Houston has to offer. My apprenticeship only lasted 8 months before I moved shops and started out on my own. I’ve had an interest in art since I was a kid and I always thought that tattoos were cool. I never thought that I would be able to make a career out of it, but I was given an opportunity and ran with it. Some of my artwork has been noticed and shared by Rob Zombie and Brian Werner, from Vital Remains.
My favorite genre when it comes to tattoos is horror portraits and macabre. I’ve always been a fan of horror, the occult, and the bizarre. My dad and I bonded over horror flicks when I was a kid and it has always been an important part of my life. I also enjoy traditional, neo-traditional, Japanese, realism, americano, black and grey, and color tattoos. I have respect for all sorts of art, not just body art, like painting and music.
The most challenging thing for me is trying to find new ways to push myself to be a better artist. The best part of tattooing is the people I get to meet. When I work conventions, I enjoy meeting other artists and learning from them. I also really enjoy taking my family with me to the conventions. I’m currently still in the Houston area, but I plan on taking my career further by traveling and working more of the conventions, building my clientele and getting my name out. Overall it has been an amazing adventure and I can’t wait to see where else it takes me.
